The Easons Come to Town

This weekend was so much fun because the Easons came all the way from Memphis to visit us. It went by way too fast, but we did a lot of fun stuff in the short time they were here. We had a trunk show, went to a braves game, went to the pool, stayed up late and talked, and enjoyed watching our little ones play together. I'm so glad they came so we could make more memories with our families. Oldest friends are the best friends!

Play Dates and Nap Time

The two things I will miss the most about summer are 1) play dates and 2) nap time.  I love playing with our friends and then sleeping in the afternoon.  Don't kids have the perfect life!
About to hike the mountain.  Elizabeth walked it for the first time.

Made it to the top!

On the way down, Elizabeth rested her legs a minute by sitting on the Bob.  Caroline instantly started playing with her hair.  She does that all the time.  We may have a future hair stylist on our hands!

Katy posted this on facebook with the caption, "An ADPi legacy and her barn party date!"  Love it!!

Oh how I will miss you summer!  Now, I'm off to take a nap:)

Friday and Saturday

On Friday the girls and I ran a lot of errands.  Elizabeth has started not wanting to wear her bows.  Somedays she wants to, but others she either just wants a head band or a ribbon.  I prefer a ribbon so I took her to Hobby Lobby to stock up!

They were so exhausted from running around all day, that they both took long afternoon naps.  So after dinner we decided to go with our neighbors to the pool to burn off some energy.

This afternoon it was raining so we took the girls to see Despicable Me 2.  They love going to the movies.

Afterwards, we went to Mirko's for dinner and then Gigi's Cupcakes for dessert.

So far it's been a yummy weekend!

Swimming

Elizabeth has taken about 5 swim lessons this summer and she has really improved. It helps that she's in the water at least 4 times a week, and I'm sure thats why she's good at getting dive sticks at the bottom of the pool. But today she floated on her back by herself for the first time. She kept wanting to show me over and over that she could do it!

Even if she doesn't make the Olympics or get a college scholarship (ha!) I hope she continues to love this sport she can do her whole life.

After swim lessons we had a swim play date with Eva and Ella. My girls are definitely water babies!

What a day!

Today my friend Katie flew into town for just a few hours. She had to take a quick trip to the Brazilian consulate which is in Buckhead. So me, the girls, and Bert met her for lunch. Then we did a little shopping. It was so great to catch up with her.

I knew we wouldn't get home until after 3:00 and Caroline seemed wide awake, so I decided to run some errands.

The girls got some much needed haircuts.

Melissa happened to be at the Avenues too so she joined us and we did some shopping at Versona. We wrapped up our afternoon at Menchie's. Yum!

They were acting like they didn't even miss their naps. But before we were out of the parking lot they both passed out! What a day!!

Summer Time Fun

Elizabeth and James Henry have been taking swim lessons together.  It works really well, and they love playing together afterwards.

During one of their swim lessons, Caroline spent the entire time walking around Sophie, the dog that Katy is keeping right now.  It kept her busy and out of the pool:)

We had an impromptu lunch date with the Southerns after one of our lessons.

The girls still sing "Ring Around the Rosies" around the flag pole at the Y every single time we go.

We love going out to eat down at the square.  Especially the Marietta Pizza Company.  The girls love going to plain on the train after dinner.

Melissa and I are helping each other out with child care during some of our appointments.  It's such a relief not to have to find and pay for a sitter and know my girls are in great hands and having a blast.  Melissa sent me these pictures of Elizabeth completing a puzzle all by herself and then playing with Reese in the playroom.  I love how Reese is looking at E in this picture.

We all love Firehouse Subs.

Elizabeth and I found the best used book store.  It had so much to choose from.  We bought 5 good-as-new hard back books for $20.  We were both excited.

We've been walking after dinner most nights.  One night, we saw a rainbow.  The girls were in awe.  Elizabeth couldn't believe it was real.

Swim Lessons

Caroline and Reese are taking swim lessons together!  Actually, it's a parent-tot class so all 4 of us are taking lessons.  Last Saturday was our first one and the girls really loved it. And thankfully, Chris was there to take pictures of us.
