Caroline's 5th Birthday

On Saturday, April 23rd Caroline turned 5 years old!  How can that be?

Bert snapped this picture of my baby and me before we left for the party.  A similar one from two years ago was in my timehop app... I wonder how long I'll be able to hold this precious girl of mine.
Caroline's party was at Champion Kids.  She asked me to do it there about 6 months ago (it's where Elizabeth takes tumbling).  Since they can privately accommodate up to 30 kids, it was the perfect place!  Plus, they have people who run the whole thing.  They order the pizza.  They play with the kids.  They serve the cake.  EVERYTHING! Easiest birthday ever!!

I love that Caroline was able to invite all of our neighbor friends and all of her favorite school friends, but most of all I love that Reese was at the top of her list!  This girl's mama is one of my very best friends so it makes my heart happy to see them celebrating birthdays and making memories together.

We spent 45 minutes in each room before going to the party room for pizza and cake.  The birthday girl was having so much fun and  so sweaty.

She got so nervous when everyone was singing.  Her big sister came to her rescue and made her feel comfortable and happy by holding her hand.

Birthday parties are hard work!
That afternoon, Nannie came and we went to dinner to celebrate some more.  Of course she chose Laredos and we had them sing to her!
Happy Birthday sweet Caroline!  You light up our world!!

My Birthday Weekend

Last weekend we celebrated my 37th birthday, and I must say, it was the most amazing celebration I've had in a long time.  The entire weekend was absolutely perfect!

This was all Julie's idea.  She planned everything and every detail was perfect!  The whole thing was a surprise to me.  I was just told to show up to her house ready to go at 7:00... so I did!

We had cocktails and appetizers.  Then at 7:30, she said "Time to go!"  We walked outside and there was a party bus waiting to take us to our destination.  So much fun!

The only thing she told me about her plans was that
1) I had never done it before, and
2) It was right up my alley.

She was 100% correct!  We went to The Ultimate Escape Game in Atlanta.  The guys and girls were separated and then put inside a room.  Each room had it's own theme with clues we had to figure out in order to escape.  Julie knew I would love the challenging competition.  We had one hour to get out, and we barely made it!  But we did beat the guys which is all that really matters:)  (Later I found out that they were in a much harder room).

We loaded the bus again and headed back to Marietta.  Our second/ final stop was at a Karaok e bar.  I had not done that in years.  We had a blast, especially when the guys sang for us!
I felt so overwhelmed and loved the entire night.  Everyone had the best time ever, especially me!

We spent all day Saturday outside with the most beautiful spring weather.  We had a picnic lunch with our friends complete with birthday cake!
The girls' favorite part was playing "superman" and flying on my feet.

Actually, I think I'm still smiling from last weekend:)

Spring Break

We stayed home for spring break this year and it was wonderful!

Each day we did a little something productive, a little something fun, and a lot of relaxing!

All activities were cancelled for the week, but Caroline had to go try on her costume for her dance recital.  Little miss is pretty full of herself... especially regarding dance!

Elizabeth was forcing a smile here since I was slowing her down from getting to the play area.  Lately, every time we've eaten at CFA the balloon lady has been there.  Makes my girls' day!

Caroline all of a sudden started riding the balance bike a lot.  I wouldn't be surprised if she's riding her bike without training wheels by the end of the summer.

This picture was actually taken the Wednesday before break.  The soccer team uses my room for their weekly yoga days... doesn't every classroom look like this after school:)

Bert had drill on the first weekend of spring break.  The location is close so he gets to come home.  The girls and I had been lazy all morning, but Caroline wanted to make her daddy his lunch all by herself.  I laid it all out for her and she did it!
Each day we hung out and played with our friends!

We discovered snap chat!

lunch date with friends

We took a walk around our neighborhood after dinner.  It was so nice not to rush to get the girls in bed, but to enjoy some extra time together.

One of our favorite days of the week was the day we spent with the Hill girls.  We spent the morning at Champion Kids open play and then on the square eating lunch at Marietta Pizza Company.

On the last day of spring break, Bert and I took the girls to play Monster Mini Golf.  We had a lot of fun!
