He is Risen!

We woke the girls up extra early this morning.  We went to the early service so we could go to Nannie and Papa Ray's for lunch.  The girls weren't lovin the early wake-up call until they saw their baskets!

Caroline was especially giddy this morning!
My sleepy-headed bunnies.
Once they were dressed, I tried to get a picture of them together.  No luck!

Attempt #1

Attempt #2... at least no one is crying here

Caroline is starting to give me her "fake" smile a lot.  Or she'll say cheese without looking anywhere near me.
We also attempted a timed family photo.  These always make me laugh:)))

The girls had so much fun spending the afternoon in the country with their cousins.  Elizabeth and I had some fun on the 4-wheeler!

Elizabeth learned during the children's message today about how to greet people on Easter.  She kept repeating, "He is risen.  He is risen indeed!"  I hope it sounded as sweet to Jesus's ears as it did to mine!!

Fun Week at School

Prom season is in full swing and I just love hearing how the guys ask the girls.  I love it even more when they ask for my help! One of my students hid in this box and when his date came in, he popped out holding flowers and asked her to prom.  It was so cute, especially since about 40 people piled in my room to watch it happen and cheer for them!

Another one of my students brought in a griddle to make pancakes for her class as a "pleasant suprise."  She had blueberries and chocolate chips and whip cream.  Even orange juice!

Then today, I took a group of the coolest kids ever on a field trip to WinShape Wilderness at Berry College.  I have the best job ever!

I can't believe that...

1) My girls are still able to wear their Easter dresses from last year.  That's never happened for both of them at the same time!
2) My sweet Caroline is getting a little sassy these days!  I don't think I have to worry about her big sister picking on her anymore!

3) And my little girl really can do the stairs all by herself.  Why do my babies have to grow up?!?!

East Park Easter Egg Hunt

We didn't let the cold weather and wet ground keep us from holding our neighborhood Easter Egg hunt today.  I'm so excited that I joined the kid's social committe.  These ladies are so much fun to plan a party with and I'm reminded of how lucky we are to be in such family oriented neighborhood!
I think the weather scared some people off, but those that showed up had a blast!
Even though there was a designated area for the younger hunters, Caroline would NOT leave my hip.  She wasn't very interested in finding eggs.  The bigger kids would come up and hand her one, and she would drop it in her bucket.  My children could not be more different in personalities!

Elizabeth, on the other hand, was off as soon as they said "GO!"  Kara was so sweet to run around with her.  It made Elizabeth feel so special.

Elizabeth loved the treats as much as the egg hunt.

An Excuse to Bake

Last weekend my sweet friend, Lee Ann gave us each our own monogrammed aprons.  This weekend it has rained nonstop creating the perfect excuse to spend the day baking!
For the record, I am NOT a baker.  In fact, today alone I got my finger stuck in the blender (ouch) and turned my first batch of cookies black when I used food coloring instead of vanilla extract (oops)!

This was the look Elizabeth gave me when there was nothing left in the bowl to lick.  So pitiful!

I have to say... our efforts paid off!  The cake was delicious!!

Spring Fling

Tonight was our Spring Fling Dance for the Special Ed kids in Cobb County.  Elizabeth has been my date the last two year.  She can really cut a rug!
We give all of the kids sunglasses as party favors.  This year we bought spring colored aviators.  Alissa and I couldn't resist!

The Lord's Prayer

When we say our bedtime prayers at night sometimes Elizabeth will say, "I don't know what to say."  So I taught her the Lord's Prayer so she would never be at a loss for words when speaking to her Almighty Father.

Taking Cover

We had some major thunderstorms and tornado warnings tonight. Bert was in class and I didn't want to take any chances so me and the girls hunkered down in the basement. I am so grateful for our basement!

We entertained ourselves by taking a few selfies.

When the sirens stopped, we went upstairs to check out the hail!

What a difference a day makes!

We all woke up healthy this morning! It was such a beautiful day and we enjoyed every second of it.  We started it off by cheering for our favorite soccer player.

It was so cute watching the girls hurdle up and do a big team break.  I know it sounds so cheesy, but they were each so excited to be part of the group.  They did it at least 3 times and finished in giggles each time.

I'm not sure what this stance was about, but she was ready to play!

Luke came to watch her play this morning.

I loved watching this too.  All of the parents form a tunnel for the players to run through at the end of the game.  The girls just keep going around and around.  Then they go have snacks.
It was so beautiful, we decided to pack a lunch and head to the park.  Apparently, Caroline doesn't think I'm a good stroller driver.  She wouldn't get in until she had her helmet strapped on.

This afternoon, Elizabeth wanted to go cheer for Luke at his baseball game.  So we did.  What a fun day!
