Trick or Treat

Elizabeth informed me tonight that Halloween is her "faaavorite". To be fair, everything is her favorite right now. But the kids and the parents had a blast tonight. I really love seeing all of our neighbors out and about. Watching each others kids take such good care of the younger ones makes me so happy. I feel like Halloween is the true kick off celebration. Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner!

Fall has arrived!

We have already started using our fire place to stay warm, and it makes our living room so cozy at night.  Elizabeth will ask her daddy to start the fire, and then we play, play, play.  I just want to slow down time so I can remember every moment with my little girls.  Caroline is my little snuggler who would cuddle up in my arms all night, except that she loves playing with her big sister too.  Elizabeth is our entertainer who loves putting on a show and keeps us all laughing right until bedtime.  At least until she plays too rough with her sister, and they both end up in tears (but that's just real life, right?!)

Trunk or Treating

Today we went to, not one, but two trunk or treats.  The first one was held at our chuch at 11:00am.  This is the first year that we opened our trunk to pass out candy.  I was determined not to spend any money and to reuse some of the stuff we already have.  We definitely had a girly trunk.

Elizabeth chose both costumes this year.  She is "Olivia" and Caroline is "Peppa Pig."  She even insisted that Bert and I wear pig noses as "Mommy Pig" and "Daddy Pig."

Our church trunk or treat had blow up bouncies, slides, and mazes along with tons of other activities.  There was food to eat and so much fun with friends.

Tonight, our neighborhood trunk or treat started at 6:00.  It's the first year we had it, and the kids had a blast.  We filled the clubhouse with crafts and games for the kids.  The trunks were amazing.  And we set up a fire pit with bales of hay for the kids to sit and make smores.  This day has probably made Halloween Elizabeth's favoritte holiday.

Stats

Caroline had her 18 month well check up and shots today. She weighed 24 lbs 4 oz which is the 70%. She is 33 3/4 inches tall- 95%. Not quite as tall as her sister at that age, but definitely a tall, healthy girl!

18 Months Old

Caroline is one and a half today!  She was in no mood to take pictures tonight.  She was so tired.  But I really wanted to document this day in her precious life.  I will find out her stats on Friday when we go to the doctor, but here's what else she's up to.
Caroline, the very best part of my day is seeing your reaction every day when I come home.  You squeal so sweetly, throw up your hands, and run as fast as your little legs will take you into my arms.  It never gets old.
You still drool like crazy, eat a ton, and you're in to everything.  You are especially into everything your sister is into.  If she has it, you want it. If she does something, you are right behind her.  Elizabeth loves to make you laugh, and does it better than anyone else.
You seem to udnerstand everything we say to you.  Whether it's a question or directions, you follow what we're saying word for word.  You repeat a lot of the words we say to you.  The only ones I've heard you say without prompting are "mama", "dadda", "bye-bye", "hi", "no", and "ank-oo" (thank you).  You sign a lot, especially "more" when you want more to eat.

You make the funniest faces all the time.  Your expressions really crack us up.

Since your daddy has been home with you two, you've become quite the daddy's girl.  It makes me a little sad because you use to be such a mama's girl.  But you have an awesome daddy, and I love how much you love him.
You love to give hugs and kisses.  I can't tell you how many times a day you just walk up to your sister and put your arms around her waist.  No matter what she's doing, she stops and hugs you back.  I rarely can catch it on camera because it happens out of the blue.  Tonight I asked you to hug her, so you did.  You're looking at me as if to say, "Here you go Mom, are you happy?"
You really are so sweet natured and easy going still.  You only fuss when you're hungry, tired, or sick.  And even then, if you are distracted it doesn't effect your sweet spirit.

Tonight, you were so deliriously tired (it was only 6:45) that you started rolling around on  the floor, acting very goofy.  Which is what you always do right before you crash.

Tennessee Football

We drove to Knoxville on Friday night for dinner with our friends who came in early. It was wonderful to spend quality time with some of my favorite friends before the crazy game day activities started.  On Saturday we started tailgating at 1:00, but those 6 hours flew by!  It may have been a very ugly game, but I still love Tennessee football for bringing all of us back together each year!

Flashback Friday

This was taken at last year's ADPi tailgate.  We're heading back to Knoxville this weekend to cheer on the Vols, and more importantly to hang out with our awesome college friends!  So excited!!

How is it Wednesday already?!

Why is it that the weeks you want to hurry through always drag. And the weeks you need more time, fly by?! This week is speeding past me, and I still have so much to do before Friday.
I haven't even slowed down enough to take a picture of my kids. That rarely happens. These are pictures Bert has taken with his phone. So glad he finally joined the smart phone world!
