Amelia Island day 2

Since it was only 46 degrees when we woke up this morning we just had breakfast and took it easy. Bert played games and guitar with the girls and I went for a nice long run.

We strolled down to the beach around 11:00. It was still chilly but the sun was out! Elizabeth didn't slow down at all while we were at the beach. She ran, jumped, dug, built and played all day. Caroline spent most of the day curled up in my lap talking to me. Her sister did convince her to play for a little bit.

After showering and resting, we went to the Crab Trap for dinner. Bert really wanted some crab legs ANSI was eager to check out the historic district.

After Elizabeth ate her requested broiled fish and Caroline devoured a hot dog (my kids have quite different taste buds), they both requested frozen yogurt. That done thing they agree on!

Amelia Island day 1

We left home around 10:00 this morning and promptly stopped at Dunkin Donuts to get our fix! We put Frozen on and we were off to Amelia Island.

We pulled into our condo a little before 4:00. After unpacking we walked down to the beach and splashes around a little.

Then we had dinner right on the beach at Sliders where the kids could play on a playground in the sand while we listened to a live band. It was a great way to start off our week.

Last Weekend

Last weekend Elizabeth had a soccer game on Saturday and Sunday.  She is still loving it and doing so well.  We decided to sign her up for a week long soccer camp this summer.

Pictures from Teachers

Almost every day Caroline's teacher sends me a picture of her from the day.  Every now and then Elizabeth's teacher does it to (I think they're a little busier in Pre-K).  I started saving them this semester.  I love seeing them hard at work learning and having fun... and sometimes sleeping:)  FYI: there are a lot of theme days. i.e. pajama day, wacky tacky day, etc.

These are a few of Elizabeth.

From St. Paddy's Day

One of my sweet students made green play dough for St. Patrick's Day and gave me some to give to my girls.  They were so excited!

Our Weekend

Elizabeth started her soccer season on Saturday.  What a difference a year makes!  Last year was a hot mess watching the 4-year-olds chase each other around the field.  This year, Elizabeth better understands the concept of controlling the ball and getting it into the right goal.  I don't mean to sound surprised.  She has always been an athletic little girl.  But neither me or Bert have very good eye-foot coordination, nor are we very fast.  We're not sure where she got it from!

They practice for 30 minutes, then play a 30 minute game against another team.  Caroline wanted so bad to be out there with her sister.  A few times she escaped onto the field!

Game time!  She showed great instinct and hustled after the ball every second of the game.  She scored 7 goals (there's not goalie at this age), but most importantly she was smiling the entire time!

Saturday night, Bert and I had a date night (two weekends in a row)!  Whoohoo!!  The girls slept in until almost 9:00 on Sunday.  I used that as an excuse to sleep in too especially since it was dark and rainy outside.  The girls loved that they got to use their new umbrellas (from Christy) and wear their rain boots to church.
