Feeding 5000

Last week, Elizabeth was in her first musical.  It was called, "Feeding 5000."  They told/sung the Gospel story of Jesus feeding 5,000 people with only a few loaves of bread.

It was so cute, but most importantly Elizabeth received the message that you don't have to be big and important for God to use you.  This miraculous feeding was another sign that Jesus is the Messiah, and he uses even young children to carry out His plan!

Friends and Family

Our weekend was full of friends and family time.

Gabriella and Elizabeth played on the hill while they waited for Reese's bus to drop her off.
We eat at Laredo's A LOT!  It's yummy Mexican food and it's so close to home.  Friday night we ate there with some friends, 7 adults and 7 kids.  Fun times!
Elizabeth's very first time chewing gum.  I had to document her first gum ball!
The girls played "hair stylist" while they watched Nemo.

Bert's uncle was in town from California and it was his brother's birthday.  So we went to Villa Rica on Saturday for a cookout.  Uncle Jim lives on a golf course, so Nannie took the girls out to the green to teach them how to play!

On Sunday we walked to the square to eat lunch after church.  We are so blessed by such great friends, church friends, neighborhood friends, old friends, school friends.  I have always cherished my friends, and now I love how my girls love them too!

Bert and and his dad and uncle went to the Braves game on Sunday afternoon.  Reese, Elizabeth, Lola, and Vivian played "babies."  They are all great mamas!
We are all so ready for summer so we can spend many lazy afternoons watching our kids play!

Caroline is Three!

Caroline, you are three-years-old and I can hardly believe it!  You are still very much my baby.  You even say, "I'm a baby and a big girl."  You are 100% a mama's girl and want me to carry you everywhere.  I'm trying to get better at making you separate from me, but I just love it so much!
At your appointment yesterday, you weighed 36 pounds (90th percentile) and measured 39 1/2 inches tall (92nd percentile).  I am so excited because that means you will probably be tall enough (40 inches) to ride the same rides as your sister when we go to Disney World in 5 months!
You are wearing size 3t and 4t clothes and size 10 shoe.  The same as your sister at this age.  But your personalities are so very different.  I love having 2 girls that are so different but love each other so much!
By this age Elizabeth was completely potty trained, even wearing big girl panties at night.  You are still 100% in a diaper.  Not even a pull-up!  You have absolutely no interest in going potty on the toilet.  Your pediatrician confirmed my thoughts that I need to just wait until you're ready.  If July comes and you're still not ready, I will start pushing it.  Right now, it doesn't really bother me.  We didn't get any awards for Elizabeth being potty trained so quickly!  Ha!
You are independent in a completely different way than your sister.  You like to be close to my side, but you can play completely on your own.  No matter what the other kids are doing, you can keep yourself entertained.
You are so cute, and you know it!  You're always putting on a show!  Batting your eyes and pouting your lips are your specialty.
You are still sleeping in your crib.  You do not like sleeping with other people or in big beds.  I thought that you would like cuddling with us, but you absolutely do not!  When we all slept in the basement during some bad storms, you woke up 3 times crying for me to take you back to your crib.
You hate to be put in time-out but it works like magic when you misbehave.  If we say "no" to you or raise our voices, you quickly say, "sorry."  It's so cute.  You instantly want to hug us.  You don't like it if someone is upset with you at all.
You're other most common saying is, "I'm okay!"  Whenever you fall or trip or bump into something, that's the first thing out of your mouth. I'm not sure if you're telling us or yourself!
You love school.  You run in the class every day and give your teacher a hug before sitting down for breakfast.  You've yet to have a bad day.  You are so sweet and loving to all of your friends.  You hug them before you leave in the afternoon and they always yell, "Bye Caroline" and you get a big smile on your face.
You were completely healthy at your well-check yesterday, but then you woke up with 102 degree fever.  You didn't even have any shots and you didn't have any other symptoms.  The fever went away by 10:00 and hasn't come back so far.  I'm not sure what that was all about, but I sure did enjoy my extra time at home with you today!
Caroline and Elizabeth both at age 3!
My sweet Caroline, we love you so very much!  Your easy going, silly personality is such a blessing in our home.  You are your sister's favorite playmate and our little snuggle bug.  You complete our family perfectly!

Relaxed

Last weekend was pretty busy.  So on Sunday after our Sunday School picnic and Elizabeth's soccer game, we treated ourselves to pedicures.  I told her to sit in the chair beside me and relax while she waited for her turn.  This is what happened...

My girl knows how to relax:)

Caroline's Princess Pajama Party

For Caroline's 3rd birthday she asked for a princess themed party.  Since we were mainly inviting neighbors and close friends, we decided to make it a brunch so we wouldn't have to get out of our jammies!

Each prince and princess had a crown to wear.  They might have been wearing their pjs but they were still royalty!

My princess
She had no idea that the REAL Cinderella was coming to her party too!  I wish I had gotten a picture of all the kids staring out the window while Cinderella came walking down the street.  They were all in awe!

First, she gave us some princess lessons.  Caroline was a little overwhelmed and acted shy.  She wouldn't let me put her down.

Then Cinderella painted all of their faces while they each colored a royal picture.

Caroline asked for half of her face to have the Elsa swirls and she wanted Olaf on the other side.  She got just what she asked for.
Thankfully these three princesses will have plenty of time to take more pictures where they are all smiling and looking at the camera:)

The boys led an exploration while they waited for everyone to finish!

After face painting, Cinderella had story time.  She read a book and sang so beautifully it filled up the whole house and held everyone's attention.

After storytime, she made balloon animals, swords, and flowers. For Caroline, she made Ariel out of the balloons.  It was pretty cool and C was very impressed.

Time to sing happy birthday to our princess!  Instead of cupcakes, we had chocolate frosted donuts with pink sprinkles.  Caroline was mesmerized by Cinderella as she sang "Happy Birthday."

This was the best group picture I could get. Some of the kids had to leave before the picture.

Caroline reminded us all day that Cinderella had come to HER house to see HER.  I know she felt so very special this day.

Caroline's royal family:)
After all the guests left, Caroline opened up her presents. She got so excited over every single one!

Caroline Lawson Kelly, you are growing up so fast.  Your sweet, silly personality brings so much joy to our lives.  We love you precious girl!
