From St. Paddy's Day

One of my sweet students made green play dough for St. Patrick's Day and gave me some to give to my girls.  They were so excited!

Our Weekend

Elizabeth started her soccer season on Saturday.  What a difference a year makes!  Last year was a hot mess watching the 4-year-olds chase each other around the field.  This year, Elizabeth better understands the concept of controlling the ball and getting it into the right goal.  I don't mean to sound surprised.  She has always been an athletic little girl.  But neither me or Bert have very good eye-foot coordination, nor are we very fast.  We're not sure where she got it from!

They practice for 30 minutes, then play a 30 minute game against another team.  Caroline wanted so bad to be out there with her sister.  A few times she escaped onto the field!

Game time!  She showed great instinct and hustled after the ball every second of the game.  She scored 7 goals (there's not goalie at this age), but most importantly she was smiling the entire time!

Saturday night, Bert and I had a date night (two weekends in a row)!  Whoohoo!!  The girls slept in until almost 9:00 on Sunday.  I used that as an excuse to sleep in too especially since it was dark and rainy outside.  The girls loved that they got to use their new umbrellas (from Christy) and wear their rain boots to church.

Bring on the Weekend

Today turned out so beautiful.  I decided to beat the buses out of the parking lot today (which means I left 10 minutes early) to go for a run before picking up the girls from school.  I felt a little like a kid skipping class... I was a little excited:)

After picking up the girls, we played outside until dinner.  Great start to the weekend!!

Spring Forward

I was so excited to spring forward this weekend.  Longer days, more sun, warmer weather... so excited!
Friday night started with after dinner drinks with Melissa.  We missed Katy (who got sick) but it was so nice to relax and catch up.
We all woke up pretty slow on Saturday, then had to get it in gear to get E to swim practice by 9:00.  She was supposed to start soccer, but the rain on Friday made the fields to wet.  She was disappointed but that meant I didn't have to be late for my friend's baby shower.  Not having to rush around on Saturday was such a blessing!
This is her "Ariel" pose.  Not sure why.  It just is.

Saturday night we went out with some friends to celebrate Julie's birthday.  We went to Red Sky, a tapas bar with dueling pianos.  So much fun!

The birthday girl

Elizabeth sang with the Joy Choir in the traditional service on Sunday.  She was really into it this time.  I almost cried listening to her sing, "Jesus is my best friend."

The weather was so nice on Sunday the girls played outside all day long.  We got lots of yard work done.  I went for a run.  We jumped on our neighbor's trampoline.  Basically, played, played, played!

Dr. Seuss and Frozen

The girls celebrated Dr. Seuss this week at school. There was a different theme each day. They wore tacky socks on Tuesday.

Wacky Wednesday was fun especially since we had church after school! Elizabeth was not a fan of dressing wacky. She kept saying, "This isn't cute. I don't look pretty!" I told her she could change but as soon as she saw that her friends were wacky too, she was okay with it. Not excited. Just accepting.

On crazy hat day Caroline was very specific that she wanted to be Minnie Mouse. Not exactly crazy, but she sure was adorable!

I was so proud of E this morning because she figured out all by herself how to get the hat to stand up. Bert was out of town so I was busy getting myself and C ready. She had taken it upon herself to stuff her daddy's newspaper in it to make it stand up. She is definitely my problem solver!

My girls absolutely love Frozen. They sing the songs ALL. THE. TIME! Friday night they put on a performance for Bert and me.

Fat Tuesday

On Tuesdays (since Bert has class) we eat dinner with my friend Allison and her kids, Gabriella and Brayden.  We switch off every week and it's so fun!  Brooke and her kids, Jackson and Jordan, joined us this week too.  So we had a Fat Tuesday celebration!

Whirlwind Weekend

On Thursday night Bert left for Memphis so that he could spend the weekend fixing up the old house getting it ready to rent again.  That means that me and the girls were flying solo for a few days.
Caroline "called and texted" her friends while watching sister at swim lessons.

We left on Saturday after swim lessons to go see Aunt Rebeka who is back from New Zealand!  The girls were so excited, and so was I!!
We pulled them to the park in the wagon.

Me and my baby sister taking a selfie together:)

Caroline said she was Ariel as she laid across the rock.  Apparently I was standing in the ocean.

We tried to take a group selfie before dinner.  The girls' faces make me laugh.  They're not really sure what's going on.

Before leaving on Sunday we had a lunch date with the Odoms!  It was great to let the girls burn off some energy before our car ride and I got to see their new beautiful home.  I so wish these kiddos got to see each other all the time!
Christy gave the girls umbrellas for their birthdays,  They were immediately obsessed.
It was actually raining outside so of course they needed their new accessory right away!

We got home just in time for me to get dressed up for our Oscar Party.  It was the most fun I'd ever had watching the Oscars.
Even though it was a whirlwind, we got to see some of my very favorite people so for that I am thankful!
