Go Big Orange

I love football season! Especially SEC football. We started the brainwashing early with our girls so now we are saving for out-of-state tuition. Go Vols!

Haircuts

I've been trying to get Elizabeth to cut her hair into a bob for a while. It's just so much easier and adorable at the same time. She wouldn't even consider it claiming that "Only babies and boys have short hair. All princesses have long hair!" But when I chopped off all my hair, she decided (on her own) that she wanted short hair "like mama and Caroline." I was thrilled that she was finally going to let me cut it AND that she wanted to be like her mama!

Caroline got a trim too!

CFA

I had open house at school last night so I met my friend and co-worker, Zelda, at Chick-fil-A for a quick dinner with our girls. Eva an Ella are in the same classes as Elizabeth and Caroline. Even after spending all day together, they were thrilled to have a dinner date!

Weekend Wrap Up

After our eventful evening on Friday, we didn't do much on Saturday.  Elizabeth and I did go to a 4th birthday party for her sweet friend, Riley, who lives down the street.

After church on Sunday, we tried a new place on the square.  It's called Pressed and it's a panini restaurant and it was yummy!

We ran into some friends at the square and let the girls play on the train.
During Caroline's nap time, Elizabeth and I went to get manis/pedis.
After dinner, we took a walk to the park and Elizabeth tried out her new bike.  Yep, she is already ready for a bigger bike.  How is my baby getting so big?!  She says she wants us to take off the training wheels.  I think that will be a daddy/daughter venture!

I love our little town!

Last night we went to the concert on the square in Marietta. They have them once a month and they're totally free and so much fun!

The band was a Jimmy Buffett cover band and they were incredible. There were so many of our friends there. I think Elizabeth thought it was her party! Ha!

Happy Friday!

Today is Green Day at school.  Elizabeth doesn't have to wear her uniform on Fridays, instead they wear the color of the week.

Black and White Photos

The week that the girls went back to school, there was a photographer who came in and did black and white photos of the kids.  These aren't their official school pictures.  And I didn't know they were taking pictures that day, which wouldn't have mattered anyway because I never buy them.  Especially when they look like their hair hasn't been brushed in 3 weeks.  Yikes!

I usually just scan in the proofs anyway.  So this time is no different.  I'll probably start buying a small package when the girls start kindergarten, but for now this will work!

Rain Parties

It was cold and rainy all weekend.  We had two special birthdays to attend on Saturday, and both were outside!  The first was for Luke at the park.  When it started drizzling, the kids didn't even notice.  They had so much fun.  At the end Elizabeth told me, "Mama, I like rain parties.  They are so fun!"  I think she thought it was planned that way.

Elizabeth was so proud of herself for being the one who busted open the pinata.  That's my girl!

Reese came over to play afterwards, and of course they played dress up!
Caroline played too:)
Afterwards, we went to Alana's 5th birthday party.  It was at her house, and they had a blow-up water slide and lots of other outdoor games.  Again, the kids thought the rain just added to the fun!
Elizabeth and Anna Kate enjoyed their cupcakes.

Crazy Fun Weekend

This weekend was so busy but so fun! We had a neighborhood garage sale on Saturday that we spent all Friday night preparing for. Then we went over to the Hills' house on Saturday night and had the yummiest dinner and best time with our sweet friends.

On Sunday we spent the day out on the lake with some friends. Elizabeth was in her element, surrounded by friends, fun, and water!

Caroline preferred sitting near the food and hanging out with Anna Kate.

Both of my girls loved driving the boat.

Caroline zonked out while we were riding around.

While Bert was pulling the anchor out he realized it was harder than it should've been. He kept pulling and eventually pulled out a small tree that was attached to the anchor! This is part of the branch that broke off when it surfaced.

We tried to get the kids to take a picture of the adults. Cooper took this one.

Elizabeth took this one.

We had the best time but were so exhausted after 8 hours on the lake. We went home, ate, showered, and were all asleep by 7:00pm! Crazy, fun weekend!

Getting Older and Closer...

To no more diapers in this house! Caroline has shown no signs of being ready to start potty training up til now. However, this week she has started telling me after going #2 in her diaper that she wants me to change it. She also tells me her tummy hurts right before she does it. The first signs that we are getting closer!!

I still treat her like a baby and just can't believe that she's old enough to be potty training. Elizabeth seemed so much older to me at this point because I had just had a new born. They are both growing up too fast for this mama.

First Day of Preschool

On Sunday afternoon we had Elizabeth's Meet and Greet for preschool.  We met her new teachers and toured her classroom.
Today, was her first official day of preschool.  She was a little confused because I've been talking to her about the uniform she's going to be wearing.  But the school didn't have the shirts in time, so they're just wearing regular clothes this week.  Elizabeth was very concerned about what the other kids were wearing.  I assured her that they did not have their uniforms yet either... and so it begins!

This picture truly captures our mornings.  My girls are SLOW to wake up!

Really trying to give me her fake smile because I promised her a sucker.

Still faking it, but getting closer.

I guess this is the best I'm going to get at 7:00 in the morning.

Luau

Yesterday we had our neighborhood Luau party for the kids.  It was suppose to be a summer kick off party in June.  Three tries later, it was a back to school kick off in August.

Jade and Elizabeth are going to preschool together.  We didn't know they lived in our neighborhood too!

Reese and Elizabeth

Caroline did a little swimming and A LOT of eating!

Elizabeth and Gabriella

Mr. Wesley had all the kids jumping through hoops!
It was such a fun event.  I met some new neighbors and the kids wore themselves out with all the fun they were having.
